Licata 01/10/2018: Following an agreement with Eureco S.r.l. for the purchase of the Italian built (2006) Multi-Purpose Support Vessel “Vincenzo Cosentino”, the Assodivers Group has today taken delivery of the vessel in Licata, Italy. The vessel was renamed “Alcyone” and hoisted the Greek Flag. The “Alcyone” measures 47m in length, 15m in beam, has a Gross Registered Tonnage of 627 and features a Liebherr HS 895 HD Crane equipped with a variety of dredging buckets and accessories, a 7-point mooring system and a large flush working deck. This new addition to the specialized Assodivers Group fleet, coming only a year after the acquisition of the “Ariadne” (ex. Viking Poseidon), further enhances the Group’s capacity and capabilities in the field of subsea cable installation and specificaly in the near shore areas which are not accessible by larger ocean-going vessels.

The group specializes in the provision of turn-key services for submarine cable installation, protection and repair projects, utilizing specially designed equipment and marine means. Our list of services includes submarine cable loading, transportation, laying, pulling and landing onshore as well as sea trench excavation by means of trenching and/or jetting techniques, offshore mattress installation and provision of pre and post installation survey.
